AMD busts Ryzen performance myths, clearing Windows 10 from blame - johnsondech1948

Ryzen performance is the mystery that has launched a thousand conspiracy theories, performing like a champion in productivity and content founding tasks only occasionally delivering few frames than you'd expect in games. AMD debunked most of those conspiracy theories in a blog post Monday night.

For starters, the company said Windows 10's scheduler isn't guilty. Internet hardware detectives had started to focus their blame on Windows 10 scheduler, the part of the operating system that doles out form to each separate core or thread in a chip. Our review found confusing results with Ryzen sometimes taking a backseat to Intel's chips where we didn't expect it.

The fix: Optimization

As AMD CEO Lisa Su said in a Reddit AMA just after the chip was released,  the answer may follow from game optimizations. Hallock echoed Su's statement over again in Monday's web log post.

"Above altogether, we would like to thank the residential area for their efforts to understand the Ryzen processor and reportage their findings," he said. "The software/hardware relationship is a multifactorial one, with additional layers of nuance when preexisting software is exposed to an all-new architecture. We are already finding many small changes that can improve the Ryzen carrying out in foreordained applications, and we are optimistic that these testament result in beneficial optimizations for current and future applications."

Still, one must wonder what's going on with a poker chip that exceeds expectations in what you would think are heavy-responsibility applications, but is slightly unsatisfying in tasks that are typically thought to be inconsequential for a burly CPU.

The good news for Ryzen is most gamers won't observe it at the resolutions and settings most will play games at.
